It is well known to everyone about the Coronavirus and its effect on ordinary lives. It is all started from China's Wuhan City In 2020 and still a continuing and spreading threat throughout the world. The old covid-19 strain took many lives and almost challenged the whole Health Facilities of the World.
Almost every powerful and small nation went through strict Lockdown, which directly affects the students' education. The New Strain of Covid-19 is often more dangerous and deadliest than last year's strain as it mutated and becomes more vulnerable for the children. It has a high spreading rate mainly showed in Children's of age group 0- 14 years.
How does the new strain differ from the old one?
The Changes in Variants of viruses occur when there is a change in mutation in virus genes. These changes often happen to depend upon the change in climate and geography.
According to the Health specialist Robert Bollinger, M.D., M.P.H., "All the R.N.A. viruses tend to mutate significantly; some are less, some are more mutating." He added, "Just take an example of Flu virus; it changes over time, that is why doctors recommend getting a flu vaccine every year.
Bollinger says, "England B.1.1.7 variant of coronavirus have 17 genetic changes, which means the New mutated strain is more contagious". He says, "The shreds of evidence found by our researchers including B.1.1.7, seems to bind more tightly to our cells, this makes it more 'stickier' due to changes in spike protein".
Effects of New Strain Corona Virus in Nepal
In the last 24 hours, the new coronavirus positive cases reached nearly 2,200, which is the highest of the total number of Covid-19 instances in a day. The PCR and Antigen tests were increasing the covid-19 positive cases also increasing.
Due to an increment in covid-19 cases, the Government issued a notice regarding closing all the schools and colleges for a month to break down the chain of the new strain of Coronavirus. Educational Institutes can continue the classes from the online learning methods until further notice. The spreading speed of Coronavirus is increasing day by day, mainly in the cities of Nepal, as there are cities like Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Birgunj, Janakpur, etc. which are having more population and crowded market areas. Do Children get affected more by the New Strain of the Corona Virus?
The medical team and researchers' recent survey found new strain cases, mostly in children under 15 age group. The Health specialist Stuart Ray, M.D, Vice-chairman of Medicine for data integrity and analytics, says, "The new strain is appearing have found more and increased in number mainly in children.
He notes that the information shows that children are getting infected by old variants and new ones. "There is no persuading proof that any of the variants have special ability to infect or cause disease in children. We need to be more active in monitoring such shifts, but we can only speculate at this point," he added.
What do we do now?
The Coronavirus is the highly contagious and rapid mutating Virus ever recorded in Human History. The effects and results can be seen from Italy and America's previous year's data and now the next in India. In India, more than 1 lakh positive corona cases has recorded every day, and mostly there are children affected by the new strain of Coronavirus.
The Government is trying hard to control the flow of transferring the Virus; front-line workers that health workers were pushing hard to cure the patients, but it is like the Virus itself saying, "The more you try to stop me, the more I get stronger."
